Orion’s VME7555 is an extended temperature, air or conduction-cooled, high-performance, Single, Dual or Quad PowerPC™ Single Board Computer (SBC) designed for rugged applications. As a single-slot 6U VME64X SBC, the VME7555 incorporates many standard features not available on other similar competitor’s products. The VME7555 is extremely versatile and will automatically operate as a system controller or peripheral controller depending on which VME slot it is installed.
The board’s design strikes a balance between power and flexibility. Its power is derived from the PowerPC™ G4 core architecture with each of its four low-power Freescale MPC7457 processors running at 1GHz. The VME7555 supports an industry-standard PCI-X capable 64-bit PMC (PrPMC capable) slot running up to 133MHz which enhances the IO and processing capability of the board. The PMC slot is designed to VITA-32-PrPMC Processor PMC Standard revision 1.0a.
