Orion's Model 1130 was custom designed specifically for use in the AN/PSS-14 (formerly HSTAMIDS) hand held mine detector. The 1130 provides features such as an automatic heater for extreme cold start-up conditions, a heat spreader for conduction cooling, various serial and USB ports and processor options that range in power from the cool-running 400MHz ULV Celeron to the LV 933MHz Pentium III.
A full test suite was also developed by Orion to ensure full functionality and reliability. The test suite is a combination of custom hardware and software that tests up to twenty 1130s simultaneously. Custom software controls the environmental chamber, monitors each board's progress and logs the results by board serial number.
